“Chronicles” may need to be defined
From Hebrew, “Events of the times”
The Greek, suggests, “Things left over”
Such history can help us to discover

Genealogies here are carefully tabulated
From Adam to those returned from captivity
David became King of Judah’s Kingdom
And restored the Ark of the Covenant to them

David fought wars to establish the Kingdom
Satan provoked him to number them
J oab objected but finally gave in
And David’s pride caused him to sin

David prepares to rebuild the Temple
And gathered material to make it simple
The Lord told David, Solomon was to build it
David a man of War while Solomon a man of rest

Having made all these arrangements
Solomon is made King following God’s commandment
With pomp and ceremony the organization is laid out
David had been a great King Without a doubt
