2nd  Samuel

David is made King, “man after God’s own heart”
A Great King and Servant but not always smart
For the well known affair with Bathsheba and his sin
God pronounced a great punishment and forgave him

His many Psalms reveal his repentance
And Israel’s fighting men grew to over a million
David built an altar to celebrate the famine’s end
Later Solomon built the Temple where it had been

Israel’s population is now a million and a half
Now the problem leaving God and trusting in self
God sent a famine to destroy Jerusalem

To remind them that they were still to obey Him

David’s two accomplishments, Psalms and the Kingdom
He is now old and Solomon is soon to be enthroned
2nd Samuel is a sample of Human Affairs
That can help us be among God’s etemal Heirs
