John the Baptist now appears on the scene,
Preaching prepare the Lord’s way and make it clean
Matthew calls their attention to a Prophecy again
Many heard John and were baptized for their sins.

Even Pharisees and Sadducees came to his batism
John challenged them as to why they had come.
He “pulled no punches” about their repentance
If they did not repent, fire Was their sentence.

He said one was coming with a fan in His hand,
And would purge with an unquenchable firebrand.
They need not to appeal to “Abraham’s seed”
For God used stones if there was a need.

Jesus comes to be baptized by John.
John says if one is to be baptized “I am the one!”
