Esther

King Ahasuerus gave a National Celebration
Feasting and drinking, a 180-day occasion
Vashti was invited twice but refused
The King and his princes “blew a fuse”

Mordecai, her adopted father, was concerned
But the “keeper of the women” took care of her
Esther learned of a plot to assassinate the King
The villains were caught and hanged to a tree

When it was learned that Esther was the reporter
It put all the Jews in a corner
Esther said she would tell the King her side
“If it means that I die, then I die”

Esther makes her appeal interceding for the Jews
They were allowed to save themselves from abuse
The enemies of the Jews then sought revenge
But the Jews were able to overcome them

With this victory the feast of Purim existed
Because Queen Esther had bravely insisted
And Mordecai was honored next to the King
For all he had done Protecting Abraham’s “seed”
