Jonah, go preach to Nineveh repentance
Or they will face a terrible sentence
Jonah didn’t want to go and ran away
Providing a sermon for all to this day

He boarded a ship and went below for a nap
God sent a storm almost dividing the ship in half
The sailors reasoned who is causing this?
They asked Jonah, “are you the cause of this?”

Jonah confessed and said “throw me into the gale”
So they did, and Jonah was swallowed by a whale
There in the belly 3 days and 3 nights
Jonah repented that he had taken flight

Ile prayed a fervent prayer accepting God’s reprimand
And the fish vomited him onto dry land
lonah immediately called on Nineveh to repent of their sins
For God’s punishment was soon to begin

Nineveh believed Jonah was God’s man
The King decreed that all must follow God’s plan
They clothed themselves in sackcloth and ashes
And appealed to God for mercy by their confessions

.lonah was displeased by God showing such grace
He told God that’s why I fled in the first place
Jonah found a place and continued to mope
And God taught him another lesson closing this book
