John asked his disciples to go find out

If Jesus is the one he had announced about.

They were told "You have only to hear and see.

The dead are raised, the sick healed of disease."

Then Jesus speaks up about John.

"He was a prophet and a very special one.

Certainly not one just speaking in the breeze.

But sent by God to prepare the way for me."

It is sad that even the leaders do not listen.

Seeing and knowing the truth they still twist it.

Jesus begins to upbraid the cities

Who had witnessed His works, and what a pity!

But Christ thanked the Father for His insight,

For He was received by babes but not the wise.

"I am in the Father and He is in me.

He sent me to you as you will see."

"So, in His name come to me and be blest.

You who are heavy laden will find rest.

My yoke is easy, my burden is light.

When all is done you will have done right."
