At the Mount of Olives and being on foot

Jesus said, "Find me a donkey along with her colt,

If any man questioned or objected,

Explain they were doing what the prophet predicted."

 

This they did and Jesus mounted the donkey

The multitude followed shouting and honking

They paved His way with clothes and thing

And crying, "Hosanna, He is our King!"

 

Jesus went to the Temple full of moneychangers

Overturned their table and threw them out with anger,

Saying, "This is a house of prayer, I can't believe

How you have made it a den of thieves."

 

The Chief Priests were so displeased

That Jesus prepared Himself to leave

On the way He saw a fig tree with just leaves.

He withered the tree for a lesson to be received.

They were shocked at how quickly it withered away

He told His disciples, "You can too, with prayer and faith

And that can even remove mountains for you

You will be amazed at what prayer and faith can do."

Later in the temple teaching most heartily

The Chief Priest demanded by what authority

I'll tell you if you will answer one for me

By what authority did John the Baptist preach?

​

Jesus followed with a simple parable

A story that would be comparable

A man told his 2 sons to go work the vineyard,

One said yes and did, the othe said yes but didn't.
