Christ now continues to teach His disciples.
Lessons that would always be applicable.
Lessons suitable for every-day living.
Like giving alms and other kinds of giving.

When giving your alms don’t sound the trumpet.
You will only be rewarded with men’s compliments.
Let your giving be more like a secret.  
God will reward you and you may believe it.

Let not your praying be for show.
Prayer is for God above, not for men below.
You need not be too repetitious,
For God easily understands your wishes.

Jesus gives His disciples a sample prayer.
Not for repeating but to know how.
Lessons on how God’s people are to fair.
Like clothing, stature even style of hair.

He urges them to put God’s Kingdom first.
Rather than food, clothes or water for thirst.
Spend time and thought to live righteously.
Whatever may happen, God will reward abundantly
