The story of Ruth, noble as a queen
An interlude between the Judges and the Kings
She met Boaz While gleaming in the field
With mutual appeal their marriage was soon sealed

Ruth’s genealogy vvould be a part of the Messiah’s
Important information if such was required
She would be a part of King David’s family
That the l\/Iessiah’s genealogy would be clearly

The “courtship” of Boaz and Ruth is quite revealing
A culture that would make us rather uneasy
But Boaz was careful to make it all legal
The families and neighbors Were happily agreeable

A son was soon born and was named Obed
Who was the father of Jesse the father of David
This genealogy ofthe Messiah is here listed
Should there be any that would question it

So the beautiful story of the one called Ruth
Recording information providing required proof
With this interlude between the Judges and the Kings
We’ll read with interest what 1st Samuel brings
