Song of Solomon

The Song of Solomon is all about love
The kind of love that comes from above
A song that describes the rule of fidelity
An important ingredient for credibility

Solomon uses himself as an example
Of love for a maiden whose beauty was ample
Her impression of his was he is a king
Their admiration of each other is something to read

While Solomon had a harem at home already
Compared to this Shulamite girl highly over-rated
Solomon arranged to take her with him
To show her around and visit Jerusalem

Interestingly both loved God’s nature
Spending time in gardens and vineyards
She was so “tanned” she is called “black”
When it was time to go home he took her back

They spent time dreaming of each other
Thinking about the joy they had discovered
When he was gone, her time was a bore
How happy she was when he knocked on the door

“Solomon’s Song” some say was his best
Now the question is what does it suggest?
Some say, God’s love for lsrael’s 12 tribes
Some say, Christ the “Bridegroom”, His church The “Bride"

Suffice it to say for this rhythm and rhyme
That love is both powerful and divine
Providing the very essence of fidelity
Without which there is no credibility
